OVERVIEW
Northside Locksmiths came to me via a referral from my preferred hosting partner, Conetix. Steve explained that they were experiencing ongoing issues with their existing web designer and needed someone reliable to take over the project and get the website back on track.
THE BRIEF
After reviewing the existing website, it became clear that the original theme being used by their previous designer was creating numerous functionality and security issues. The site needed to be completely rebuilt from the ground up. Northside requested that the layout and structure remain the same, but that it be recreated using our preferred and fully licensed Divi (Elegant Themes) framework. Once the project commenced, ownership of the Divi theme personal API would be registered entirely to the client.
THE APPROACH
To ensure a smooth transition, I rebuilt the entire website using Divi — recreating all 64 pages manually. This wasn’t a simple copy and paste exercise, as the staging site had been built using US spelling, so every page required a careful review and rewrite to reflect Australian spelling and terminology. I also sourced appropriate placeholder imagery (to be replaced with their own photos at a later stage), implemented Google integrations, and added advanced security measures to fully protect the WordPress dashboard and admin area.
THE OUTCOME
The complete rebuild was delivered and launched in less than one month. The site went live with no disruption to users and Northside Locksmiths were extremely happy with the finished product. Further updates will take place as soon as new imagery becomes available, ensuring the site continues to evolve and accurately reflect their brand.
