OVERVIEW
Having worked with the owners of ThinTanks (Tight Spot Tanks) previously, I was brought back in to assist during a major transition — the migration of multiple websites to a new hosting provider.
This wasn’t just a simple move. It became an opportunity to modernise and future-proof their online presence, ensuring their websites aligned with current performance, security, and design standards.
THE BRIEF
The original websites had been built quite some time ago and, while functional, were no longer aligned with current WordPress standards.
Key challenges included:
- Outdated WordPress versions
- Unsupported PHP levels
- A defunct theme that could no longer be updated
- Legacy plugins that were no longer compatible
- Heavy images and old CSS impacting performance
The brief was clear:
successfully migrate the sites while bringing them up to modern standards — without losing existing content or functionality.
THE APPROACH
Rather than attempting to patch outdated systems, the smarter and more sustainable approach was a rebuild.
This involved:
- Recreating each site using a current, supported theme
- Updating all plugins to modern, compatible alternatives
- Migrating content through a structured copy-and-paste process
- Cleaning out redundant and outdated CSS
- Optimising images to improve load speed and performance
- Ensuring compatibility with the latest WordPress and PHP versions
The process was methodical — preserving what worked, while stripping away what no longer served the site.

The result is a set of clean, streamlined, and future-ready websites.

- Built using Elegant Themes’ Divi 5.1 for flexibility and scalability
- Improved performance, speed, and stability
- Easier to manage and update moving forward
