Project Completed
Website Build
OVERVIEW
Sunbury District Obedience Dog Club (SDODC) has been a client since 2014, making them one of our very first website projects. The club needed a platform where the local community could easily learn about dog training opportunities and connect with the club. Over the years, the site has evolved alongside changes in technology and club management, ensuring it continues to serve members effectively.
THE BRIEF
- 2014: Create a user-friendly website that allowed the Sunbury community to discover the club and its dog training programs.
- Ongoing: Provide maintenance and updates as the club’s needs evolved.
- 2023: Modernise the website by moving it from an HTML build to WordPress, making it easier to manage and more flexible for future updates.
- 2025: Adapt the site for management by the new committee, ensuring the backend was simplified so anyone with basic MS Word knowledge could confidently update and maintain the site.
THE APPROACH
- Initial Build (2014): Designed a straightforward, functional website that highlighted training programs, membership details, and contact information. The focus was on accessibility and clarity for the local community.
- Maintenance & Updates: Over the years, applied updates as required, keeping the site relevant and reliable for members.
- Platform Upgrade (2023): Migrated the site from HTML to WordPress, introducing a more flexible, modern system with better design options and improved usability.
- Committee-Friendly Redesign (2025): Streamlined the WordPress backend to ensure it was intuitive for non-technical users. Created a system where updates could be managed in a simple, document-like interface—mirroring the familiarity of MS Word. This empowered the club to take greater ownership of their website while still keeping it professional and functional.
THE OUTCOME
Provided SDODC with a consistent, reliable online presence that has supported the club for over a decade.
The 2023 migration to WordPress modernised the site, making it visually fresh and more adaptable to future needs.
By 2025, the new committee was able to confidently manage the website themselves, thanks to an intuitive backend tailored to their skill set.
The long-term collaboration ensured the site remained both professional and practical, aligning with the club’s commitment to serving the Sunbury community and its dog owners.
